British Accreditation Council The British Accreditation Council (BAC) is an independent body, established in 1984 'to improve and enhance the standards of independent further and higher educational institutions by the establishment of a system of accreditation'.
BAC works in close collaboration with accreditation schemes operated by the British Council (in the field of English as a Foreign Language) and the Open and Distance Learning Quality Council.
The system of accreditation established by the three bodies was described by the Rt. Hon. John MacGregor, as Secretary of State in 1990, as 'the only public guarantee of standards in independent institutions of further and higher education in the UK'
Oxford Business College has been recognised as efficient by the British Accreditation Council for Further and Higher Education. The following is a summary from BAC's most recent inspection report:
The Oxford Business College was first accredited by the British Accreditation Council for Independent Further and Higher education in 1995. It was re-inspected in July 2006, which will last until July 2011.
BAC's inspectors reported a good standard of provision in all of the areas assessed during their inspection. The College was well equipped and classrooms were pleasant. Tutors were well qualified in terms of both academic and professional experience and the inspectors considered that the teaching was clear and well designed for the needs of the College's students, a view shared by the students themselves. The administration worked very efficiently. There was a thorough personal tutor system and good support for students requiring advice on living in Oxford.
